Breath In, Breath Out, Move Up

Many people walk around breathing in pollution (negative thoughts) each day completely unaware of the impact these thoughts have on their lives. When we think a loving, grateful thought, and feel the feeling that accompanies that thought, we rise up, just a little, out of the smog. We pet our dog and linger over the warmth and comfort their furry bodies bring to the moment. Breathe in, breathe out, move up. We hug our beloved and hold the hug a few extra seconds as we silently say "thank you for being in my life." Breathe in, breathe out, move up. We wake up a little earlier than usual. We light a candle and write in a gratitude journal, thanking God for each gift, big and small. Breathe in, breathe out, move up. We take a walk in nature and notice the magnificence, from the green, lush trees to the glistening dew on the grass. Breathe in, breathe out, move up. We make a meal for a friend in pain. We say a prayer that the food will help heal her body and soul. Breathe in, breathe out, move up.
We notice the sun is shining above the smog. The sky is blue and clear. We like how this feels. Breathe in, breathe out, move up.
